Personal support
Letters, complaints and paperwork
If a letter has been sitting on the side because you don't know how to start it, we can help you write it calmly and clearly, in your words.
Free introductory consultation — 15 to 30 minutes. This is a request; Billy or Pravesh will ring you to agree a time. No obligation to proceed.

Letters people often ask us for
Most of the letters we help with are to organisations that feel hard to reach:
- The council, about services, decisions or delays
- The NHS, about care or treatment
- The police, about how a matter was handled
- A landlord or letting agent
- An employer or former employer
- A business, about faulty goods or poor service
Making a clear complaint
Complaints that are calm, factual and dated are easier for the reader to act on. Four things help:
- Calm. Anger is understandable, but a steady tone keeps the focus on what went wrong.
- Factual. What happened, who was involved, and what was said.
- Dated. Each event with its date, in order.
- One clear request. Say plainly what you would like them to do.
Choosing the complaint route
Start with the organisation involved and keep its final response. For police complaints, the outcome letter tells you whom to ask for a review. NHS complaint time limits can be extended for good reason.
How we can help
- Drafting letters and complaints from your instructions
- Typing and formatting documents
- Checking forms for missing information
- Organising supporting documents
How we draft with you
- You tell us what happened, in your own words. We listen and ask questions.
- We write a draft using your words and your account.
- You read it, change anything that does not sound like you, and approve it.
- You sign it and send it. The letter is yours.
What to send us
Please do not send physical copies of documents. Once we have agreed how to share them, send digital scanned copies instead.
- Any letters or emails you have already sent or received
- Reference numbers, names and dates
- Forms you have been asked to complete
- Supporting documents, such as receipts, photos or appointment letters
- A short note of what you would like to happen
What we don't do
- We don't send letters in our own name or contact organisations for you.
- We don't tell you whether you have a legal claim.
- We don't add things you haven't told us, or change your account.
- We don't manage your deadlines; we can note the dates you give us.
